Well, it was good while it lasted.
On Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves announced their first round Spring Training cuts, removing 10 players from their Grapefruit League roster.
This comes as little surprise and isn’t necessarily an indictment of those players. Teams invite tons of players to their Spring Training camp and use those exhibition games as a way to give prospects some exposure to major league competition, allow fringy veterans a chance to battle it out for bench roles, and get their regulars up to game speed.
However, as the regular season draws closer and closer, the organization begins to thin the herd.
Here’s a look at the guys who will no longer appear in Grapefruit League action for Atlanta.
